“These aren't ice. Watch.”

0–3s: CU push-in. Brown cubes drop into milk, ribbons swirl.
Vertical 9:16 close-up handheld shot. In a bright white kitchen at 8 am, pale wood counter, a window behind the sink, a 31-year-old woman with olive skin, long dark wavy hair half up, a white linen shirt with rolled sleeves and small gold huggie earrings drops three dark brown ice cubes into a tall glass of cold milk; they clink and swirl brown ribbons through the white. She looks up at the lens with a sly half-smile and says: "These aren't ice. Watch." Quick push-in on the glass, soft morning window light, natural skin texture, shot on iPhone, vertical 9:16, unpolished.
Dialogue (Iced-latte loyalist, early 30s): "These aren't ice. Watch."
No subtitles. No on-screen text. No logos. Natural voice, no background music.

Why it works

Brown ice in white milk is a visual that doesn't make sense at first glance, which stops the scroll. The tray trick is a genuinely useful hack the viewer can steal, and the melt time-lapse proves the benefit visually instead of claiming it.

Hook variants to A/B test

  • “I haven't had a watery iced coffee since June.”
  • “Brown ice. Let me explain.”
  • “The night-before trick for better iced coffee.”
